100G CFP series based on different sizes of the form factors. CFP is the largest, CFP2 and CFP4 which 1/2 and 1/4 in size of CFP. CFP optical transceiver supports transmission on a single-mode and multi-mode fiber at a variety of rates, protocols, and link lengths. It can support a single 100G signal, OTU4, one or more 40G signals, OTU3 or STM-256/OC-768. 100G CFP2 optical transceivers are commonly used as 100G Ethernet interconnects and deliver higher transmission efficiencies than CFP optical transceivers. CFP4 optical transceiver has the same rate but the transmission efficiency has greatly improved, smaller size, lower power consumption and cost.
