SWDM4 Compare with SR BD
Feb 09, 2025In Common: optical transceiver with a duplex LC connector interface for short-reach data communication and interconnect applications using MultiMode Fiber (MMF). With a transmitted distance of up to 100m by OM3 and 150m by OM4 Different: SR Bidi is two optical lanes over a 2-fiber duplex LC optical multi-mode fiber. The Cisco QSFP -00G-SR1.2 BiDi operates 50Gb PAM4 channels, for a total aggregate bandwidth of 100Gb. PAM4 technology enables 50Gb data rate with signaling at 25Gbaud rates. For QSFP-40G-SR-BD consists of two 20-Gbps transmit and receive channels in the 832-918 nanometer wavelength range. Popular Cisco models are: QSFP-40G-SR-BD; QSFP-40/100-SRBD; QSFP-100G-SR1.2 SWDM4 transceiver multiplexes four wavelengths on each simplex fiber, for 40G is 10G per wavelength, 4x10G. For 100G is 4x25G. SWDM4 can’t connect with SR Bidi to use, as channel and wavelength different. But this two bring same benefit for end customer, which enables reuse of existing 10 gigabit or 25G duplex MMF infrastructure for migration to 40 Gigabit or 100G Ethernet connectivity.

Aug 13, 2021100G CFP to QSFP28 Adaptor Module is designed for 100Gigbit Ethernet and OTU4 links to deploy QSFP28 transceiver modules on equipment with CFP ports. With the adaptor module, customers have the flexibility to use either CFP or QSFP28 module on a CFP port of a switch. This flexibility is important when the specific type of interface is not available or customers want to use the same form of factor for interfaces across multiple platforms deployed in their network. For 100G Ethernet, reference clock can switch 161.133mhz or 644.531mhz, reference clock can switch 174.703mhz or 698.812mhz.

Mar 08, 2022FEC ( forward error correction ) is used for correct errors in data transmission. The idea is the sender encodes the message with redundant information in the form of an ECC ( error correcting code). The redundancy allows the receiver to detect a limited number of errors that may occur in the message, and often to correct these errors without re-transmission. This function has become increasingly important in optical fiber communication systems to meet growing demand of higher bandwidth and longer transmission distance for telecom operators and system integrators

Nov 08, 2021QSFP-100G-ZR4 optical transceiver module is designed for 100 Gigabit Ethernet links up to 80km over single-mode fiber 9/125um with duplex LC connector. This module is base on 4 channel LSN-WDM, contains 4-lane optical transmitter, 4-lane optical receiver and module management block including 2 wire serial interface. Each channel rate is 25.78Gbps, Tx use EML TOSA, receiver side adopt SOA+PIN+ROSA+PCBA design, Tx power from 2dBm to 6.5dBm, Rx sensitivity≤ -29dBm. This transceiver is compliant with IEEE 802.3ba 100GBASE-LR4 and IEEE 802.3bm CAUI-4 standard. This module can support FEC (Forward Error Correction) function which will help receiving side detect and correct bit errors and improve the overall quality of the link. Digital diagnostics functions are also available via the I2C interface, to allow access to real-time operating parameters. It is suitable to be used in various applications, such as 100G Ethernet, 112G OTN OTU4, telecom, access network and data center interconnections.
